For us we looked at each other several months back and said ” 40 years married already?” Where has the time gone? Hah! When we look at our adult children we soon realize that yes we were about to celebrate 40 years married.
So first a few pictures to show our journey…Enjoy!
Here is a picture of Kent and me while we were dating
A card that Kent made for me while we were dating. He did lots of photography in those days. He made this in his darkroom as a gift to me.
A few years later living in Tennessee while Kent got his pilot training. We are standing by our little Renault LeCar.
4 years married and Kent’s great uncle took this picture of us.
After Josh was born we went to live and minister as missionaries in SE Alaska. Yes Kent grew a beard for working there.
Kara was born two years later while we were living in Ketchikan, Alaska and Josh welcomed her into our family happily!
We finished our work there and moved to Brazil.
We went back to the U.S. and Kent went to Seminary. We moved around a lot this year, and Kent got involved in Administration of the mission.
Kent worked as the candidate director for the mission for 8 years in Kansas city, Missouri
The kids grew up way too fast and all of a sudden they were going to college. I started to travel with Kent during these years so I could also help him in the ministry more.
Josh came home from some time in Ireland with a girlfriend… They met there, but Teresa was from Michigan. Teresa and he were married not long afterwards.
We all love Teresa and she has added a lot to our family. And yes, within a short time there was a little boy named Silas…that joined our family.
What a precious little boy.
Our 30th Wedding anniversary was in 2005 between Kara and Josh’s weddings. So in March of 2006 Kent decided we should go to on a trip. He chose Israel. So we went on a bus tour of that country. Wow. What a trip! And it was so nice not to have to drive anywhere. Kent enjoyed letting others drive.
Kara had met Nick and fell in love so before long we had another wedding in September 2006.
With no kids to need our house and as we traveled most of the time for the mission, we decided to sell our house and all our stuff and move into a RV house. We still are doing the ministry and this makes it so we don’t have to go home…we take the home with us.
One year we had Christmas in Michigan
One year we went to visit Kent’s mom and dad in Washington. Kara organized it and we had a lot of fun!
Our 35th Wedding anniversary was a bit unique, because one of Kent’s niece’s was getting married the day before and we wanted to go and be with the family at the wedding. We were able to see most of Kent’s family as well as our entire family.
These last 5 years have flown by. We still work as missionaries for WorldVenture, Kent uses our RV as his office. I have been volunteering doing gardening in several places.
In November of 2014 Kara and Nick gave us another beautiful little grandson. They named him Ivan. So this year we all got together for New Year’s at their place to enjoy Ivan.
So when we were coming up to the 40th Wedding anniversary, I wanted to do something special. So I started looking. We had a free airline flights to Europe and I wanted to do a River Cruise. So when I found buy one/get one sale…I jumped on it. You will have to come back to see that adventure. But it is just around the corner…so come back soon. More Pictures there.
Happily Celebrating 40 years of marriage.

For the Roaming Reimers
PS. Kent mentioned how so many of these pictures had the kids in them too. Well, for many years we mostly took family pics so I don’t have too many for some of those years. Now that we have digital pictures you can take as many as you want and not cost you more as in the past. I wonder if any of the rest of you have had that problem???
