Visiting family and helping Kent’s parents

Next we flew from Denver to Seattle and were kindly given a nice place to sleep with Kent’s first cousin and his wife. We love these guys and try to see them whenever we can… we slept and then had a relaxing breakfast visiting as much as we can!

We also were able to have a lunch with my oldest niece, Jana. It is always good to see her too. She lives near Seattle now but I never know where she might be next. She was just about to fly to a warm place for her birthday! So we were glad to catch her before she left.

Then we stopped to have coffee and visit with Kent’s sister, LeAnn and her husband, Ken. It is hard to catch Ken when he isn’t working as he is most of the time. But it was great to catch up for a couple of hours.

Then we drove on to see Kent’s parents. It was great to see them doing so well. We were there to help in any way we could.

In the winter because it is a bit cold to stay in mom and dad’s RV on their property. So we stay with our dear friend, Ed. Ed was Kent’s Sunday school teacher when Kent was 10 years old. So we love he and his wife, Goldie like parents too! It is always good to see Ed and visit Goldie too. Goldie is in a wonderful home for Those that need more care than can be given at home. She is in late stage Alzheimer’s but is well cared for. Ed visits her at least 3 times a week. We also got to visit her and she even seemed to be listening to Kent and tried to talk to him. It was a good visit with Goldie and also Ed in the evenings.

So Monday and Tuesday, Kent helped his parents go to a Drs appointment pick up prescriptions, pick up food and other little errands for them. Me, I wanted to stay and work outside as the weather cooperated. We had done so much trimming of bushes etc in the fall when we were there..now it had been raining enough to allow for burning brush.. so dad and I started it..we had about ten piles of brush.. after lunch I really started piling it on… by dark most of the brush was burnt.. and when I looked at my phone and saw how many steps I had from that exercise…it added up to 5 miles of feeding that fire! No wonder my feet were tired at the end of that day!

Tuesday I gathered leaves and other outside chores that needed to be done. We also took recyling to the center. So I helped outside and Kent did the other tasks needed. LeAnn, Kent’s sister came on Tuesday and Kent and she got to visit some too! Mom even made lunch for us and that is something at 93.

We also got to visit Kents niece and her husband that were married this past summer. It is always good to see them too!

It was a good visit overall!  Watch for the rest of our adventures!
