Staying at a city park

Kent is often looking for free places to park overnight and we do use these spots. In fact for those of you who RV.. you might look into the website called: OvernightRVparking.com. And if you are interested in that, contact Kent at kfrimr@yahoo.com, ok?

He uses this website to find some of the most interesting places to park! Last week it was a spectacular find! It was in a small city park in Elk City, Oklahoma, which not only permitted parking for free for five RVs but provided 50amp electric hookup and water for every other site, and they even had a RV dump site too! You could stay for up to four days free and then you need to move on.

What a find! The icing on the top of that, was that it was on a beautiful little lake. This lake attracts all kinds of birds.. we saw a flock of swans, some egrets, and pelicans and many smaller birds.

We stopped early this day as it was getting grey and overcast so we were here at noon. We were very lucky to get here early as there were tons of other RVers coming by looking for a place to stay, but they were all filled. We did meet another couple in the same type of RV we have, so Kent invited them over for coffee in the afternoon. We had a nice visit and Kent and Dale really hit it off. Since the next day we could still stay here, and it was rainy…we stayed. It was such a relaxing place to sit and read . And I got to do some cooking and baking too. It was indeed a real restful find!

Here is the two views from our back window.. very pretty!

Grateful for great places to rest and recuperate!
