Thanksgiving

What a blessing it was to be in the Northwest for the commissioning of our dear missionary candidate and friends, and then we were able to drive to be with Kent’s parents and sister’s family for Thanksgiving!

After our weekend with Brad and Sarah for their commissioning, we drove to Seattle on a day when we could see Mt Rainer

We got to spend the night with our dear friends Bruce and Melody, where we had parked our RV last summer. It was great to get caught up a little with them!

The next day we drove past Seattle and on to where Kent’s parents live. The weather around Seattle was a bit more typical for fall with a bit of fog over the city.

It always renews my spirit to see all these beautiful tall evergreen trees! I just love the Pacific Northwest so much. I feel closer to God when in a forest or garden, so this place is special to me!

We had Thanksgiving with mom and dad, Kent’s sister LeAnn, husband Ken and her two grown up kids. Her daughter and husband both were there an us! So it was a full table. We got some of the food from the grocery store and some LeAnn cooked ahead.. so we did have plenty and mom got to sit and enjoy the company instead of trying to do the food. It was great!

We also got to visit another dear Friend Ed and his wife Goldie( who is in a memory care facility). It was so fun to hang out with Ed in the evenings as he lives alone now.

We ended our trip by overnighting with a first cousin of Kent’s and his wife..before heading to the airport for our trip home. We are so very grateful for this visit.

We realize that mom and dad are ha big a harder time with life now but are content with their situation. We pray for them and all the caregivers!

We pray that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
