Traveling to see friends and rest

We left the farm in rain. We traveled in rain for two days, but thankfully since we have found some sunshine!

We were in a bit of a hurry at first so we could see friends along the way for lunch. These friends, both the couple and lady in the picture have hosted us often. It was so nice to have a lunch then continue down the road.

We then traveled to an RV resort we have been in many times. In our 14 years in the road, we think we have been here at least 7 times. We have several friends here as well. Phil we have known since we lived in SE Alaska almost 40 years ago. Last fall Phil and the family lost his wife, Jeannie from cancer. Well, then we had just found out that Phil was diagnosed with cancer too, Phil, helped Kent to do the major modifications to our truck to carry our Smart Car about 5 1/2 years ago. He is a dear friend. So we stopped by to see him. He also had a project for Kent to do. So you can see the picture of him overseeing the work.

We also had a former colleague from WorldVenture here. Doug and his family are such a testimony to us. They served with WorldVenture in Congo and left during the wars years ago after being threatened at gun point for their lives.

Doug even served as our boss for several years. He was preaching at a church nearby, so of course we wanted to hear him. And Doug had just lost his baby sister at 54 year of age, to something in the brain. She was healthy and very active, playing with her teens and suddenly collapsed nd died. This us sooo hard for a family to deal with this sudden inexplicable death. Doug had a great message about “ Casting all our concerns onto the Lord.” It was good for me, as well as very appropriate for their situation. It made our visit with them so sweet!

After our lunch with Doug and family, we decided to go visit the ocean. I LOVE the ocean but we seldom get opportunities to see it. Since we were only about 20 or so miles from the beach, Kent indulged my love!

So you can see a picture of me on the beach near the water, and also one of my in sandals and bare feet and Kent in his shoes! He really doesn’t like sand between his toes!

We then had a few days to rest! Yes, actually rest. We are parked in some beautiful evergreen trees nd are walking each day among them and around this RV park. My body is feeling refreshed from all the work this summer on the farm and my soul and spirit are being refreshed from more time in God’s word and good songs!

I also got to catch up on some correspondence. And time to write this blog.

Love,

Jan for the Roaming Reimers
